Who I Am
👋🏼 Hi, Hello, Hola.
I’m Stephanie Novoa. I’m a long time Lexington/Dawson County resident.
I may have been born in Anaheim, CA but Lexington Nebraska has always been home to me. My parents moved our family to Dawson County when I was just a baby. They came for jobs at the local meat-packing plant, but they found so much more: community, security, and opportunity for themselves and all their children. Home is everything to me, and I love helping others find that too.

Back Story
As a teen, I couldn’t WAIT to get out of Lexington Nebraska, and I was never going to come back! Isn’t life funny; here I am with my longtime high school sweetheart and two boys living the good life in Lexington.
Home isn’t just about the four walls of a house. Home is community, family, and friends. It’s about the bonds we inherited as children, then strengthened as young adults. It’s about how we show up for each other every day in every small way. Neighbors, colleagues, family, friends, and strangers alike – Lexington gets it. And I love that about this place we call home.
I graduated from Lexington High School in 2013 and went off to college at UNK. I graduated in the Winter of 2017 with a degree in Family Science. During my time at UNK I became a mom all while trying to juggle school, work and life. I was at UNK on a full ride scholarship thanks to the Susan Buffet scholarship and a multicultural scholarship through OMA (which at that time was the Office for Multicultural Affairs). Thanks to those opportunities I had the chance to meet incredible people along the way and became involved in many different organizations within OMA and even joined the Lambda Theta Nu Sorority.
After graduating from UNK, I landed my first full-time paid position with Dawson Area Development in Lexington as a Workforce Education Coordinator. During my time there, I worked with the high schools and counselors in the Dawson County area. Our mission was to help youth narrow down a career path and match them with local businesses to build relationships with the end goal for them to keep in contact and someday come back to the Dawson County area to live and work. We did this by coordinating business tours, community tours, career and college fairs and mock interviews. During my time at Dawson Area Development our family welcomed our 2nd son. In August of 2021 I transitioned into another position with the Lexington Public Schools as a Sixpence Home Visitor where I was a parent educator for families with children aged 0-5.
In the midst of all this, I had always had the thought of real estate in the back of my mind. I loved helping people, and it seemed like a natural complement to how I was already serving my community. During COVID (and a lot of time at home) I finally reached out to a couple agents in the area and started asking questions about the industry. That did it for me, and in January of 2022 I passed by state exams to be a Licensed Real Estate Agent in the State of Nebraska. I started working real estate part time shortly after, and in August of my very first year I transitioned to real estate full time!
During this entire time, I have been involved as a volunteer in the Lexington community in multiple capacities. From being a volunteer for youth sports at the Orthman Community YCMA to being a board member of the Orthman Community YMCA, a board member of the United by Culture Media organization and active committee member for the annual United by Culture Festival. I am a member of the Business Education Committee for the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce. I help manage a soccer team for our son with the local Lexington Unifut Soccer Club. I am on the housing committee for the Dawson County Family Partners Collaborative. An active volunteer for Dawson/Gosper County CASA. I also do part-time work as a coordinator with the Lexington Community for Kids where I coach anyone interested in providing early childhood care in their home or would like to become licensed with the state of Nebraska to provide care and/or access early childhood trainings.
Some would think that I take on a lot (sometimes I wonder 🤪). After all, my phone is always ringing or dinging with someone trying to get ahold of me for something, from my kids, family, friends, and my clients! But I have a passion for everything I do; it brings me so much satisfaction. So maybe my plate is full, but it’s worth it, because it fills my cup too ❤ Being able to help people from many walks of life through the work (paid or not) is what keeps me going every day – from helping people navigate the home buying process, educating home buyers and arming them with the correct tools to make big decisions to negotiating deals or being on the flip side and marketing properties for seller clients, to coaching people who want to provide safe and loving care to children.
